Good deal on detergent

If you’re a Costco member, be sure to stop by Costco through October 7 for a $2.75 discount on Kirkland Signature’s environmentally-friendly laundry detergent (see your member’s coupon booklet for the coupon).

Unlike many of the phosphate-free brands at the grocery store, Kirkland’s Signature is also cruelty-free, meaning no animal testing. And, at just 11.3 cents per load (based on the $13.59 regular price here in Nashville), it’s a bargain compared to other environmentally-friendly, cruelty-free brands like Seventh Generation and Planet.

Check out this 2009 article from Costco about their detergent and other environmentally-friendly cleaning products:

  1. We don't have costco here, but we are a Charlie's soap family. I discovered it when using cloth diapers for the kids when they were babies (yes, there are tons of ways to use those that are super cute, good for the environment and not too hard on Mom and Dad). With my asthma and now the latest onslaught of migraines, I wouldn't buy anything else. They make alot of great products. Alot of them sell really cheaply priced on Amazon, especially with a subscribe and save deal. They used to be just laundry soap and all purpose cleaner, but they have really branched out now. I like that they put all the testing results from Duke up on their site and toxicology results, and of course, no known animal testing :) If there are other cleaners you need...check 'em out at

    1. Thanks for the tip, Shell! I checked out the website and this guy is a trip. Good ol' North Carolina guy. Might have to give this stuff a shot since it's a relatively local, small business and meets all my other criteria. Thanks!
